Proposed change to Hindhayes Infant School 2026-27

Overview

We are asking for your views on a proposal to create a new Special Educational Needs (SEN) unit at Hindhayes Infant School from September 2026.

Somerset Council and the school’s governing body is proposing to create an on-site SEN unit for 6 to 8 local children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) whose needs cannot be fully met in a mainstream classroom.

We are asking for feedback because we want to make sure local children and young people with special educational needs can get the right support, in the right place, as close to home as possible.

We want to hear from you if you are a pupil, parent, carer, staff member, or local resident with an interest in the school.

We would like to know if you support the proposal and if you have any comments that we should consider.
