Parent Carer School-age Childcare in Somerset Survey, Autumn 2026

Overview

Calling all parents and carers of school-age children in Somerset!

We want to hear about your experiences of before-school, after-school and holiday childcare.

Your feedback will help us understand what childcare is available across Somerset, whether there is enough provision, and any challenges families face when accessing childcare. This information will help Somerset Council plan future childcare services and meet its duty to assess childcare needs.

We would like to hear from all families, whether you currently use childcare, make other arrangements, or do not need childcare at the moment.

The survey is open to parents and carers of children of all school ages, although we are particularly interested in childcare for primary school-aged children.

We may share a summary of the main themes from the survey with schools where we receive at least 10 responses. Any feedback shared will be anonymous and no individual will be identified.
