Green Lanes Consultation
Overview
Somerset Council is seeking views on proposed changes to Green Lanes in selected locations across the county. These proposals involve limiting through routes for motor vehicles in specific areas with the aim to improve access for people walking, cycling, and horse riding.
We invite you to share your feedback to help inform future decisions.
Why are we consulting?
Somerset Council is exploring options for managing specific routes to balance the needs of all users. Restricting through routes for motor vehicles may have implications for people who walk, cycle, or ride horses, as well as for local access and connectivity.
We are consulting to understand the potential benefits, challenges, and impacts of these proposals. Your views will help us assess whether these changes are appropriate and how they might affect different communities.
Letters will be issued to residents likely to be affected by the proposals. Local Councillors, parish and town Councils have also been notified.
Electronic copies of the letter are provided below for reference with the relevant maps included for each location.
Why your views matter
Your views will help to inform the next steps the Council take in developing and trialling schemes.
